Meet Austin
Inside Sales Coordinator

Approachable and honest are two words we’d use to describe Austin. Highlights of working with him: He is dedicated to client satisfaction. Read on to learn more.

How did you get into the events business?

I spent nearly six years with Stanford Athletics, beginning as an Event Manager and later transitioning into an Events and Operations Intern. I managed home game operations for Women's Lacrosse and Beach Volleyball, coordinated logistics with visiting teams and officials, and led game day setup support staff. Highlights include managing the Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championships and supporting U.S. Women's Soccer Team practices and postseason events. It was rewarding to see all the hard work come together—those moments truly deepen your appreciation for the behind-the-scenes effort.

Why do you do it?
I do it for the rewarding feeling of seeing smiles on people's faces.

Favorite part of the job?

I enjoy connecting with diverse clients and seeing an event successfully executed from start to finish.

Least favorite part of the job?

While I love the fast-paced environment, last-minute changes are the most challenging. I've learned to stay flexible and solution-focused to ensure smooth execution.

How would you describe your personal style?

I would describe myself as honest, and I prioritize over-communication. This ensures clarity, helps identify constraints early, and allows for creative solutions.

If you were to throw an event, what would the style be?

I'd throw a casino-themed event, inspired by my love for Las Vegas. It would feature a red carpet, photo station, sleek black lounging areas, and gaming tables.

What's the one thing that's most important to think about when planning an event?

Ambiance is most important as it creates the entire feeling and atmosphere, dictating how guests feel and remember the event.

What's something unexpected that comes up for most people planning events for the first time?

Guest count fluctuations are often unexpected. RSVP changes impact everything, leading to last-minute pressure.

What's your communication style?

Honest and open.

What music genre is sure to get you out on the dance floor?

Slow dance songs are ideal for me because they hide the fact that I am not the best dancer.

Chicken, steak or veg option?

Steak for special occasions, but chicken is my go-to.
